does windows mail offer "quote in email text reply"
so that when you reply-the original message is quoted?

Yes, just like in Outlook Express (and in Windows Live Mail):

Tools | Options | Send, check the box for Include message in reply.

I wish more posters would use that option. So many start with, "I'm having
the same problem...", with no quoted context so we have no clue as to what
the "same problem" might be. :>(

It might not be so easy to do in the browser interface (also known as
Discussions or Communities), because that's where the problem is most
common.

Yes, the setting is at Tools>Options>send tab, 5th option down.
