Replication To Avoid Corruption???

Everything sounds so dramatic with this program. :)

The Intranet my crowd is using is sluggish to say the least. I've used all
the tips and tricks to speed performance (Thank you Tony) and the Performance
Analyzer has no suggestions. The Intranet is dial-up, really slow, with high
traffic. After it became apparent that the connection speed was my problem
and after making my backup, I replicated the back-end, created replica for
one of my sites and the synchronization works fine. Although it takes about 2
minutes. (It's amazing how impatient I am when it comes to computers,,,,2
minutes is nothing to wait for a pop-tart) Obviously the preferred situation
would be immediate updates between facilities. But considering the
inconsistent connection, going off-line is the norm, it seemed Replication
was a better choice. Is this reasoning sound?

Currently I am using a manual synchronization from
Tools>Replication>Synchronize Now. Is it best to manually synchronize or
should I have it scheduled and if so,,,where do I find step by steps to set
the schedule?

Any help is much appreciated.

I forget the exact term but Michka has stated that you always want to
use offline synchronization if there's a chance the connection will
fail as such have a high rate of corruptions.

However I'm a bit confused when you state Intranet dialup. Intranet
is usually a term for web pages. Are you running an Access FE at the
other end of the dial-up connection or a web browser?

I'd suggest visiting www.trigeminal.com to see if Michka has anything
to say on that topic. And/or visit the replication newsgroup.
