Replacing Windows 2000 Server CD

Hello group,

I'm working on building a 2000 server here at our company.
Prior to my arrival with this company, a copy of windows
2000 server OEM was purchased.

I have the machine that the licence is attached to, I have
all the CALs I need. There's just one problem.

I don't have a media to install with!

How do I go about replacing that CD, so I can get this
server up and running?

Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

Note - OEM software is generally exclusive to the hardware with which it was
bundled, according to the EULA. You may be able to use the OEM CD, but it
probably ain't legal...

Since it's OEM software, you'll have to get a replacement CD from the OEM.
You may or may not get any joy from the OEM. Microsoft isn't responsible
for support of OEM products.

Yes, it is the same hardware the athe OEM software is
attached to.

I just need the media to reinstall. The drive died a
while back and had to be replaced. Unfortunately, no
backup was done, and the CD was lost.

Needless to say, I'm walking into a mess that I'm
attempting to clean up.

Understood - contact the hardware mfr they got the original media with.

I looked back and saw I wasn't being clear enough.

This was a server that was built here, with a purchased
copy of 2000 server OEM, 1-4CPU, 5CALs. It wasn't put
together by a PC manufacturer. It was put together by our
IT staff.

Given that, am I able to contact the company the media was
purchased from? From what I understand, MS won't replace
the CD, as they don't support OEM software.

You can try the company that supplied the original CD, but I'm really not
sure you'll get all that far. Your best bet may be to use another OEM CD
(if you can obtain one) along with your license key.

Your OEM license key will not work with a retail copy of Windows 2000.
