i have to replace win 2000 on my main disk, but have far
too much data to effectively backup, or transfer to
another disk. if i do a clean install of win 2000 on the
drive, will my data still be there after i am done?

If you do a clean install by formatting your drive first...
all your original data will be gone.

If you opt to *not* format your drive but choose to install Win2k
in another folder...you will essentially have a clean install...but now will
have even less room on your already full drive.

If your presnet installation is defective you may want to try
a "repair" installation or an "in-place" upgrade (install-over)
