Replaced Motherboard and now Windows XP - Home won't load

A bad AGP slot on my son's Shuttle AK-32E forced me to have to replace the
MOBO with a used and older Gigabyte GA-7DX. While the PC will boot up, it
hangs while Windows XP Home is loading. In Safe Mode, the last driver listed
as being loaded is gagp30kx.sys, then it hangs.

In an attempt to try to get Windows XP to launch, I removed the AGP video
card and put in an ancient S3 Trio I had packed away with all my old computer
junk. I changed the BIOS settings to Boot in VGA Mode and switched the AGP
setting to PCI, but it still hangs at the gagp30kx.sys load.

I've read the other posts about switching MOBO's and then doing a Windows
Repair, but because I don't have a reasonable way of backing up all of my
son's Itunes and digital pictures, plus all of his school assignments, I'm
worried to death about attempting a Windows Repair. Members of this site
have helped me successfully use the Recovery Console on several occassions,
so I'm hoping that there is a member out there that can tell me how to do a
Windows Repair without losing any of my son's data or applications.

If you performed a Repair install of the System you will not lose any data
on your system.
