Hi guys, hope someone can help me out with this annoying problem.

Every time I boot up, then at random intervals during my sessions, I get the
'Found New Hardware' speach bubble pop up in the system tray, saying it has
found 'MEDIA'. It the proceeds to give me the following error.

Run a DLL as an App

EventType : BEX P1 : rundll32.exe P2 : 5.1.2600.2180 P3 : 41107dbc
P4 : setupapi.dll P5 : 5.1.2600.2180 P6 : 411096b0 P7 : 0004644e
P8 : c0000409 P9 : 00000000

As far as I can guess, this has started since I've installed my D-Link
DSL-200 modem.

My problem is almost the same thing you are getting:

Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem
and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

AppName: rundll32.exe AppVer: 5.1.2600.2180
ModName: x10net.dll
ModVer: 2.0.0.40 Offset: 000155b0

Thanks a bunch Wesley.
At least that starts me in a direction.

I have googled the beejeebers out of 'Run a DLL as an App' with 100's of
results, but no solutions.

Yes, I do have an ATI card installed but I don't use ATI's remote anything.
I'll post back after I do some research & surfing.
Later Wesley!

Run a DLL as an App is Rundll32.exe. Rundll32.exe is what loads *.dll
files.

For example, shimgvw.dll is the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
Rundll32.exe is what loads shimgvw.dll when you are viewing pictures.

Look at your ATI software for an option to not have ATI remote anything run.

The installation of those drivers fixed the problem, Wesley.
I'm very grateful for the link & tip.
Thanks!
I'll get around to finding "remote" anything in my ATI program files.
