I just ordered a new computer and ran the compatability
check on my old one and found too many problems with the
printers and just about everything else that I have added.
I'm running ME now on my old computer with no problem.
Can I put ME in the new computer and get rid of XP?
I'm assuming that if I can do this, my printers, network,
and the rest should work as it does now .

Strange request.
I have monitor that is 8 years old on my xp.
Also using Epson tractor-feed printer with no problems.
You should have tech check out xp before switching.

The most likely problem will be drivers missing in ME that were built-in in
XP. Notably the DVD ROM (assuming you got one), or other devices that are
of the kind that are currently evolving quickly - such as USB devices and
printers.

If your new one is a brand-name computer, there will be drivers needed for
built-in peripherals such as the sound card, video card, network card, or
other devices. They may ONLY be available for XP!

The last problem might be licensing the 2nd copy of ME. You'll buy a full
license, right?

Don't know who the fella is that says you need a licence
for ME. That only started with XP Activation codes.
ME is only 98SE in disguise. It's all 98 under the bonnet.

Not true, all windows operating systems since 95 required a license. It's
only now that the one license per computer is being enforced through
activation.

You still have to have a license for ME... ACTIVATION is what started win
WinXP. Activation only enforces the license agreement that has been in
place for ALL versions of Windows.
