Removing Windows Messenger

Hello,
I have done the add/remove prog...........windows components
..........windows messenger
process and that didn't work.
My Granddaughter started using it when she was visiting and now I get
her buddy list showing up almost every time I have to restart the machine.
Every time I try and navigate to find the off switch, they think I am
her, then I feel like I am bordering on her privacy .
Her screen name is the only one associated with my computer.
I have never used the product so it will be fine to just cast it into
the recycle bin.

Thanks Alan,
I used the second "autorun" suggestion and it worked as
advertised.....no more little silhouette in the tray and while I was not
comfortable with the phrase DWORD and how to set option numbers in the
registry, this fellows use of the auto-run "got it done."
