removing services

Does anybody know if it is possible to remove services
manually, and if yes, how to do it ?

There is a Resource Kit tool, srvinstw.exe that can do this.

If you dare, you could go to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services and
edit the registry manually, but this is not supported and quite dangerous.
