Removing Network Drive Icons

Guest

I connected desktop to my home network. Then, I mapped three drives on the
desktop on my laptop. I am finished with them and want to get rid of them
but can't. I tried disconnecting them, but they are still there. So, I did
some research and used net use x: /delete command, which said they were
successfully deleted, but icons to all three drives still appear under
Network Drives in My Computer. I want these gone! Please help! I am using
Windows XP Home.

Thanks in Advance,
Cherise

Hi Cherise,

Check for a namespace entry for each under this key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace

Deleting the subkeys that correspond to each should remove the icons.
