removing "livesearch" after IE7 install/uninstall?

R

Ronald

I installed IE7 on my XP Pro box, didn't like it, and uninstalled it.

Did the usual sweep for added services & processes, ran through 3 registry
cleaners afterward, cleaned out all temps, cookies, prefetch, etc. etc.

However....when adding google back into my address bar in OE, I find that
every time I select "google", i go to a microsoft livesearch page, with the
different results listed.

I googled the heck out of this irritation and can't find a way to let me
just select google and not make it a two-step process.

Can anybody help?

You should post your question in the IE7 newsgroup *after* you spend
some time reading through the posts there. I understand that you have
uninstalled IE7, but the problems arose from installing that program.
The IE7 newsgroup is:

microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

There are a huge number of posts so it would be smart to start by going
to Google Groups Advanced Search. Use a search term that describes your
problem, constrain the search to the IE7 newsgroup and the date to very
recently.

And no, I'm sorry but I don't have your answer or I would tell you
now. ;-)
