On my new dell laptop, the click sound when selecting a
hyperlink make an annoying "plop." I'd like to get rid of
it. Can anyone tell me how? Thanks.

What OS are you using? If Windows, go to
Control Panel | Sounds and Multimedia

There will be a list of actions and you can select any sound you like to go
with that action. If you do not wish to have a sound for that action, then
you can select None.

If you are using a different OS, try looking for information in the Help
files under Sounds.

I have the same sound. It is driving me crazy. I do not see it listed in
sound list.

Change or remove the sound.
Control Panel-Sounds
"Start Navigation" and "Complete Navigation" are the relevant items.

Do you have a Dell laptop as well? Is it only when you select the hyperlink
that you hear this sound?
