Hi Mark,

Try reinstalling the app in question, then go to Add/remove programs and
uninstall it.

Hi Burt,

I tried that but it tells me that the program is already installed. I
thought that I had uninstalled it a long time ago. It was only because I
wanted to play it again that this problem started. Any other ideas? I hope so.

Just sent microprose an e-mail for help but it said it could take 4 days for
them to respond. This is really frustrating. Thanks for spending the time to
help me.

You're welcome Mark.

You can also check the Q&A and Computer help sections of there web site.

It look like they have a forum also.

Can't seem to find anything to answer my question on there site at the
moment, it's quite an old game now so perhaps there wouldn't be anything on
there anyway. I tried to sign up for the forum to see if anyone could help me

Hello Bert,

Just got a responce from Microprose/Atari and this is what I got.

Let's do a manual uninstall:

Click on the Start Menu, go to Run, type REGEDIT and press OK. Click File
then Export and Save a copy of your Registry to your desktop or other safe
location and name it "Backup.reg". Never edit the registry without backing
it up first! Taking the 2 minutes to back it up can save you hours of
reinstalling your Operating System!

Next, navigate using the plus signs (+) to the key
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall' You
will need to look for a folder with a name similar to Gunship If you click
on this entry, the DisplayName on the right should have the name of the game
in it's data field. With that key selected, push delete, and confirm its
removal.

Then, click on Start, and go to Run. Copy and paste the following line in
to the Open box:

"C:\Program Files\Installshield Installation Information\"

and click OK. When the window opens up, find Gunship if it is listed there,
and delete it as well.

Locate the directory where the game was installed and delete the games
folder. This should be in c:\program files\microprose\gunship or similar
subfolder.

The title is now uninstalled from your system. You will be able to
reinstall at your leisure.

It seems to have worked. Thank you for helping, this would have been too
frustrating on my own lol.

Hi Mark,

Glad to hear that.

It sure helps to know exactly what to delete in the registry. <g>
