Remove/Replace Old Website Files

Hello.

I created a site in Frontpage 2003 and will want to replace the existing
site. What files/folders can I remove from the server? I see there is a
folder called "html" which has the old website pages, and also the following
folders:

_vti_bin
_vti_cnf
_vti_log
_vti_pvt
_vti_txt
images

How do I decide which folders to delete completely or the content in the
folders to delete? (By the way, I don't know if the previous site was built
in FrontPage, if that helps.)

The site was built by FrontPage. The folders that start
with "_vti" is the reason it was built with FrontPage. VTO
stands for Vemeer Techonolgies, Inc. This is the company
that originally created FrontPage. Microsoft acquired the
company in January 1996.

Simply Publish your new site, choosing "Publish all Pages
option.

Never remove files / folders from a FP site w/ the FP SE outside of FP
If you want to "clear" the old site Open the online site in FP - File Open Web/Site
The delete all folders and pages EXCEPT the _private and images folder
(you can delete the content in those 2 folders but not the folders themselves)

You can also just select File Publish All from your new local site and it will replace the online site

don't remove those '_vti....' folders! those are to do with frontpage's
extensions. they should be hidden files so you would not know they were there
unless you were looking for them.
