My webhost has recently changed all sites to ftp:// sites. At the same time,
I tried to publish a couple of power point shows, with limited results. I've
deleted the PPS, and I now have the following folders on the remote website:
_derived, _vti_bin, _vti_cnf, _vti_log, _vti_pvt, and _vti_txt. Then I have
all the normal files. Are these part of the new ftp site, or left over from
my deleted power point stuff? I'd like to delete them if they're leftovers.

They are left over from the server extensions.
Whether you can delete them is questionable.
Theoretically you can, but.....

If my web host did that to me I'd change hosts.
