After having run "Add or Remove Programs" in Control Panel
to remove a program, how does one remove its entry in the
Startup list in the System Configuration Utility (msconfig)?
I'm trying to get rid of MS's Anti-Spyware beta utility and
Nero's InCD utility, but the Add/Remove function doesn't get
their entries out of the Startup list.

Look in

%homepath%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
or
%allusersprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

for a shortcut for InCD.exe and I don't remember the exe for Microsoft
AntiSpyware.

I uninstalled it a long time ago.

install ccleaner (google it) and you should be able to uninstall
programs, delete their entries, disable startup services, etc.

Hope that helps!
