Remove confirmation notice on emptying folders

Is there a way to stop the confirmation boxes when emptying Deleted Items or
Junk E-mail folders? I am comfortable making registry changes if necessary.
I am using Windows Mail on Vista Premium....

Barry,

Welcome to the forums!

I believe that the UAC (user account control) is in play here. It that
case, there wouldn't be anyway to not have a prompt to delete items.
Some might recommend that you disable the UAC, however, I recommend that
you leave it enabled. It will prevent malicious code from running on
your computer as it is an integrated security feature in Vista. An extra
button push here and there is worth the protection the UAC offers,
imho.

This is a microsoft public newsgroup, not a forum.

It has nothing to do with UAC.

Well.... that just sucks...
I do realize that it is needed for the "challenged" user, but it should be
configurable... how agravating to have to go through two confirmation boxes
every time I check email!
Very user "un"friendly....

I use Windows Live Mail, and it does not require confirmation when
emptying the Junk E-mail folder.
To me it makes sense that emptying Deleted Items requires confirmation
since I know quite a few people who regretted the purging later on.
The Deleted Items folder should not need purging every time you check mail.
I empty mine about once a week.
