Removal of NewDotNet

P

Prady

Hi,

The beta version managed to identify and remove most of
the NewDotNet related stuff. However it required a reboot
to delete the dll under program files\newdotnet
directory.

Even on reboot this file still existed. I tried to get
the AntiSpyware to remove this many time but it failed
always. I had to reboot the mcn in command prompt mode
and delete the file manually after renaming it.

I expected the software to take care of this.

Thanks for the feedback, Prady.

One thing to try in this circumstance is scanning with Microsoft Antispyware
in safe mode.

newdotnet has always been a pain to remove via anti-
spyware, i find it easier to remove it from add remove
programs. Then run the program(s). I find that is the
cleanest way to clean.
good luck.

It usually is as a result of P2P Programs such as Kazaa, Bearshare and
Overnet.

For some bugs, it will help. The program needs to get this right, and
should either be able to manage this itself or warn the user the additional
step is needed, but for now, the safe mode scan is worth trying for
resistant stuff.
