Removal of fonts

There are far too many fonts, which I never will use. When trying to remove
these, a message appears that I do not have the right to do this.
How can I remove these fonts?

ya, even I would like to remove some fonts and speed up vista.

Having a lot of fonts does not slow down your computer. Although having
a lot of fonts slowed down the system in Win9x/ME, it hasn't done this
since Windows XP since font-handling is different in both XP and Vista.

To the OP: Removing fonts requires administrative privileges. Log into
an administrative (not standard) user account and OK through the request
for elevation prompts. Make sure you do not delete fonts that are needed
for Vista to work correctly. I have Googled looking for a "fonts
supplied with Vista" page unsuccessfully and my Vista machine is off
right now so perhaps someone else will know of a list.

You can remove fonts if you like, but doing so will do nothing to speed up
Vista. You got a speedup from removing fonts in the Windows 9X days, but not
since.

Thanks Ken, I was under the impression that this would also speed up Vista

You're welcome. Glad to help. It's a fairly common misconception.
