Remote printer goes offline

Hi
Have a 2003 server I'm using as a printserver.
Most of my printers is using standard tcp/ip but I have a few using lpr.
Almost all printers are connected to a axis.
I have a problem with 2 printers that goes offline once in a while.
I can ping the axis and connect to them but the printservers displays
offline.
When I restart the spooler they go online again. Does anyone know of an
other solution? I Don't want to restart the spooler to get 2 printers to
work when I have about 600 working fine.

Hi!

I have about 220 printers installed on my server. Half of them are using
axis and I have seen the same problems occure. I have solved the problem by
restarting the axis. Also make sure the axis has the latest firmware. Maybe
you should switch the axis with another one just to make sure it´s working
correct. I been able to browse axis many times even when they have been
broken. So even if you could ping an axis it´s not sure it´s working.

Hi
I've tried changing axisbox and uppdating the firmware.
I can see that the printer is working 'cause I have a AS/400-system printing
to the axis with no problem.
I can still connect to the axis (http, telnet, ftp) but the server recognise
it as offline.
When I restart the printspooler the printers goes online again. The problem
seems to be with the printspooler somehow.
Do you have any other suggestions?
