Remote desktop

Hi there,

I wanted to help in setting up my computer for remote
desktop. I have done this before but have forgotten the
steps. Questions:
1) how do i turn on the remote desk top capability?
2) how do i get my computer name and IP address so that I
can access this ?

2. Start/Run type "cmd". From the result command window type "ipconfig /all"

At System - Remote, where the lower section has a checkbox that will
also give the current computer name (which you can change if desired in
System - Computer name). And allows you to specify users that may
connect (note - passwords must be in use)

2) how do i get my computer name and IP address so that I
can access this ?

The IP address you can find by going to Accessories - Command Prompt and
giving
ipconfig /all

Note that this will only be stable over a permanent connection -LAN or a
cable or DSL connection where there is a 'lease' on the IP number that
gets regularly renewed. A dial up connection will change each time you
dial in
