I have a desktop computer with Windows XP Professional and
a laptop with Windows XP Small Business in my home. I also
have a wireless LAN in my home. The laptop has a wireless
network card and the desktop is hardwired. I can't get
remote desktop to work from the laptop to the desktop. I
have enabled the desktop to accept requests from the laptop
but it won't work. I get the following error message on the
laptop: "Remote Desktop Disconnected. The client could not
connect to the remote computer. Remote connections might
not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept
new connections. It is also possible that network problems
are preventing your connection. Please try connecting again
later. If the problem continues to occur, contact your
administrator." Any suggestions? I also get the same
message when I try to connect over the internet either by
using dial up or a DSL line. I have tried using the
computer name and the ip address for the remote and neither
works.
