Remote desktop woes

I have a problem that is soon to get very annoying.

My main computer is an XP Pro Full Tower. It is a wonderful computer that
has given me very few problems, but this one I can not understand. Before I
go back to school, I want to fully understand Remote Desktop, so that I dont
have to take 200GB of data with me. That being said, I have two other
computers on a small home network (workgroup not domain). The XP Pro can
communicate with the other XP Pro system. But should the secondary XP Pro
system, or the XP Home system try to connect to the main XP Pro, it simply
quites out. No errors, no nothing, I will enter my username and password, and
a few seconds later, it just quits.

Users are allowed to connect (on the remote tab in system properties.) Port
3389 is not blocked anywhere. I am at a loss.

What video driver are you using?

If it is from NVidia, I'm unclear on the current best advice, but I believe
folks have found that stopping an associated service relieves this symptom.
