Cannot remote desktop

E

Ed

I have a Vista Home machine and CAN remote desktop to my XP Pro at work
but can NOT remote desktop to my XP Pro at home. I get the "This
computer can't connect to remote computer" error.

- I am login using an admin account
- I have added that account to the list of authorized user in System|Remote
- I can share and copy file between them
- I have turned off firewall
- Terminal Services service is running on the host machine

I have no idea what else to check. I am experienced computer user but my
knowledge about networking and its terminology is limited.

Please help

TIA

Look at the troubleshooting section on this page for items to check...

Is this over your home LAN or from a remote location? If its from a remote
location remember you need TCP Port 3389 open on any firewall/router between
the XP Pro PC at home and the internet.
