Remote Desktop Security?

Is there any security with Remote Desktop? Is the data
encrypted in any way or form?

The reason I'm asking is I don't want any person that has
access to a sniffer to just pull my password off the
network whenever I connect remotely via Remote Desktop

Thanks

Remote Desktop is encrypted natively...

You can setup Remote Desktop to always prompt for a password using a Group Policy. Run
"gpedit.msc" from the "Start -> Run" command line. Navigate to "Local Computer Policy -> Computer
Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Terminal Services -> Encryption
and Security -> Always prompt client for password upon connection"....Right-click and configure to
"Enable" this option.

Also, always use a *STRONG* password...
