Remote desktop logs in then quits

I use remote desktop to log into several computers all running XP without any
problems and a 2003 server. However one PC is giving me fits!

I click connect the remote screen appears and then the log in / password
soon as I put the password in and click ok I get tossed out of the remote
machine. I back to the local desktop.

I have tried to turn off the firewall, anti virus and everything else I can
think of.

i need ideas of what would cause this, when all the other machine work fine

Try updating the driver for the remote computer's display adapter. If the
one from the computer manufacturer doesn't solve the problem see if there
are any available from the card manufacturer's web site. That's what I had
to do when confronted with a similar situation. The latest Dell driver
didn't help but the one from ATI solved the problem.

Good luck
