Remote Desktop/Router Port Forwarding

I'm getting conflicting signals from sources: I have my office computer
behind a Netgear RP614 router, with DSL service on that and on my home
computer. I want to access my office compter from home, using Remote
Desktop.

Exactly what port forwarding must I configure on my router? I've heard port
3389. Are there any others?

I've forwarded 3389 to my desktop computer, and disabled the firewall (just
so I don't have to worry about THOSE settings just for the test run), but I
can't connect. I'm told: "The client could not connect to the remote
computer. Remote connections might not be enabled...etc." Through Control
Panel, I've allowed others to come in through Remote Desktop. The Internet
Connection Firewall is off.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
Ken

Make sure your calling the correct IP. Call the public IP of the work router, as assigned by your
ISP. TCP Port 3389 should be forwarded to the private LAN IP of the PC your trying to connect to at
work.
