I am using a Linksys WRV54G router and have a static ip address assigned to
it. I use Linksys QuickVPN to connect to it. Once connected I use Remote
desktop to connect to one of the pc’s, it starts to connect but fails with
error “The connection to the remote computer was broken. This may have been
caused by a network error. Please try connecting to the remote computer
again.â€

Can you ping the PC your trying to connect to through the VPN tunnel?

Can you connect to the PC from another local PC?

Yes, I can Ping the pc once connected with Quick vpn and when I am on the
local network I can run remote desktop fine, no problems. It is only when I
try to access from the internet that it does not work.

I guess its possible an internal firewall in the router may be blocking
incoming RDP requests. I don't use QuickVPN or that router so I suggest
posting to this forum.
