Remote assistance

Ok here it goes-- im trying to connect 2 computers with remote assistance i
have tried to connect with Windows Messanger and the file. With Messanger it
blinks until my network times out and with the file it says Remote Assistance
failed. Please try again. afther a few second. I turned off McAfee and used
the Windows firewall didnt work. have i missed something?

Oh yeah heres one more thing- im over a wireless network witha netgear router
hope that helps!

Is this some sort of "test" you are doing or are you trying to connect to a
computer behind the router from one not on the same router?

Who is there to answer the remote assistance request?

Yeah this is a test, im anwsering the requests. and yes both computers are on
the same router

Since both PCs are on the same LAN try this as an alternative...

RA can be slow connecting at times if both PCs are on the same LAN and your
trying to use the Messenger method. Make sure both PCs and the router have
UPnP enabled...

On the PC run services.msc from the "Start -> Run" command window and make
sure the "SSDP Discovery Service" and "Universal Plug and Play Device Host"
services are both *STARTED*.

Check your router manual for information about UPnP for that device.
