Remote assistance

When trying to connect to my mom's pc, I get a message "remote host cannot be
resolved". She sends me a request through MSN Messenger. I accept but it
never hooks up. I used to be able to connect to her pc, but something has
changed on my end...Any suggestions?

Well, after reading a whole list of these same posts, it seems I am not the
only one who, 1) used to be able to connect to another PC via remote
assistance, 2) now can't do so because of this remote host problem.
If anyone has resolved this, PLEASE let me know. Thanks in advance!

Hi: I am having the same problem. Is either computer running a firewall? I
think the problem may have something to do with that. I am trying to resolve
this problem and if I figure it out I will let you know.

Hi Bob,
Yes, we both have firewalls on our pc's, however, we had firewalls on them
before. I have successfully tapped into my mom's pc before, nothing has
changed on the pc's themselves, so it must be with the remote assistance
program. Someone said something about the SP2. I have a router, my mom
doesn't. She has wirless satellite, I have telephone DSL.
Thanks for any help you can offer!!

I think the problem might be that you "Moms Computer" has not given you
rights to access her pc. I will be testing my theory on Wednesday and will
let you know how it comes out.

Okay, I was having this problem when using MSN messenger. I found out though
that you have to actually use windows messenger, not MSN.
