I am trying to connect to a friend's comp to do some troubleshooting. He
asks me for remote assistance through livemessenger but I get the error
"Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the remote
host name could not be resolved. Please try again"
If I send him an invite he can connect to me immediately. I have tried
using the emailed invitation but got the same error. I had him disable his
XP firewall as well as an AOL firewall he had (i also told him to run 1
software firewall) but still get the error.
We are both behind routers, mine is a Linksys and his is the one that comes
with FIOS. What would allow him to connect to me but not allow me to connect
to him?
