Remote Assistance Crashes Laptop

DearAll

Sorry but I posted this in Windows General .. I think it is better served in
this Catagory

I have a Dell Inspiron 510m notebook and I recently attempted to gain access
from my other machine to the notebook useing MSN Remote Assistance .. when I
accepted the request on the notebook .. it blue screened & crashed ... 2
times I have tried this and I got 2 blue screens + a re-boots after crash,
even though I have set the Dell Inspiron not to start recovery after a crash
???

I can use the notebook as a Master i.e the other direction and everything is
fine .. does anybody have any idea why it would crash, after accepting a
request for Assistance seeing as it has the facility to use remote access
....

I am useing the correct version of MSN for remote assistance i.e messenger
4.7 other versions do not support Remote Assistance, I have done this kind of
thing in the past but I am stuck and can not explain why the Laptop would
crash once the source machine attempts to connect to me ??

I have posted this in the Dell's Forum site, but as yet no response has come
my way, so I thought it might be an operating system problem hence I am after
some help and guidence

Any help would be much appreciated

Many Thanks

Danny

Update your:

- Chipset drivers
- Video Card drivers
- Network card drivers

from the system manufacturer... In you case:

Hi Shenan

Done that, I had already tried all but the network card drivers ( Network
Adapter in Dells list ) .. but I still get the crash once the invite has gone
out from the Laptop, and the Master accepts it ... this is the very last
issue I have to solve so it would be great to find the solution to this ???

I would strongly recommend CrossLoop for remote assistance - it is free
and has an idiot-proof design and goes through firewalls etc.
It is available at www.crossloop.com
