Remote access thru DSL

R

Russell DeMarco

We have a client (we're an accounting firm) that's on a new W2k server
network (using AD) with Win XP Pro workstations. We have XP Pro
workstations as well. We both have DSL (static IP) and we're both behind
DSL routers that do DHCP. How can we gain access to one of their desktops
from our location? Or, at least, log into there system from our location?
Thanks.

Either use remote desktop or setup a VPN.

In either case, you need your routers/firewalls configured to allow the
connection.

Forward traffic on port 3389 to the machine you want to connect to using
RDP.
