Remote access from internet connection

Can I connect to my computer thru the internet and run any
of my programs from another computer. I am curious if the
remote connection is like a Citrix Server. If so how is
this done.

Windows XP Professional contains Remote Desktop which is a limited
version of Terminal Services (similiar to Citrix). Windows XP Home
Edition only supports Remote Assistance which is based on Remote
Desktop, but requires invitations to work...
