reminders in Outlook 2003

I converted from Palm OS to sole use of Outlook. I use reminders for recurring events. When I "dismiss" the item on the reminder it removes the recurrence and the reminder on that event, so that I have to go back to the appointment, event, etc and once again and again save the reminder and recurrence. Any ideas?

When you dismiss one recurrence, the reminder should remain set on the next
recurrence. Are you dismissing or deleting?

Diane asked if I was dismissing or deleting. I am dismissing which is why I am frustrated.
