Outlook Reminders Will Not Dismiss

I have 2 reminders that pop up every single time I open my Outlook 2007. They
were recurring appointments that I had several months ago and deleted the
entire series. Now, when the reminders are still coming up and I try to
dismiss them, it says "Cannot turn off the reminder. You may be reminded
again. Cannot locate recurrence informaiton for this appointment." I can get
rid of the reminder box by clicking the red x in the upper right, thankfully,
but it always comes back. Sometimes it comes back within the same session,
but it always comes back when I close down and restart. Our IT guy at work
cannot get it to stop.

The first thing to try is to run Outlook once with the /cleanreminders
command line switch. In the Start Menu's Run box enter the following then
hit Enter:
Outlook.EXE /cleanreminders

When I do that, Outlook opens for me with no indication that I have done
anything unusual, and the reminders pop right up!
