reminder cannot locate reference and won't dismiss

Using Outlook 2007 synced with Blackberry. I have reminders which continually
re-occur and cannot be dismissed. The popup box says it cannot locate the
reference and I may be reminded again (and I am!)

It seems they are previous recurring appointments which were deleted from
the Blackberry and now must be "in limbo" for Outlook. I would like to
somehow stop the continual pointless reminders. The appointments do not exist
in either the Outlook calendar or my Blackberry but I am still getting
reminders!

HELP !!!!!

Did you try closing outlook and restarting it with the /cleanreminders
switch?
