Relocating the .pst file in Outlook 2003

In Windows XP SP2 we are moving the .pst file from its default location to
"D:\Backups\Personal Folders.pst"

We have carried out all of the required operations as we understand them,
but have been advised that we might also need to create "move to folder"
Wizard Rules.

Can anyone please advise how this is done please.

Any Rules Wizard rules would have to be re-created if they referenced
folders in that PST. Take a look at the Tools menu > Rules & Alerts dialog

I've acually had pretty good luck just stepping through the rules to reset
them to the current folder location. Rules seem to migrate pretty well in
Outlook 2003.

Hi Vince and Russ,

You have assisted me in that I now know how to locate "Rules and Alerts",
but I am not certain how to apply them to my particular problem of changing
the default location of "Personal Folders".

They do say that when you are in a hole stop digging and I don't want to
make matters worse through ignorance!

If you've migrated your data correctly, the rules remain intact but are set
for your old location. Just open each rule and reset it to your new location
by stepping through the rule elements.

Many thanks Russ,

That's what I call service!
