I recently installed a SATA HD (WD Raptor) which I wish to make as my
primary disk.
My OS which has all the upgdates is presently installed in the Primary
Master HD. Would it be best to transfer OS (if feasible) or just load the
WINxp clean install onto the SATA drive. My WINxp disk did not contain the
SP2 update. What's the best way to load the necessary updates.

Without the SATA drivers installed at the outset you will not be booting
that drive. Clean install with the SATA drivers at hand.
