Because of a problem with Outlook I decided to remove and
completely reinstall my Office XP Standard Upgrade program
which I had been using for about 2 years. Now, when I
reinstall, it tells me that "no qualifying product" can be
found and the installation is aborted.

Any suggestions?

You have to have some version of OFFICE installed or a CD
available in order to use an upgrade CD. Check your
computer records and your memory to find and install the
qualifying program.

You state that you are installing an upgrade version. What is installed for
it to upgrade? A previous version of Office must be present to upgrade.

Assumption........

Since the Office 2000 was an "upgrade", you originally had an earlier
Office(97?) installed.

If you still have the disk for that handy, stick it in when the 2000 upgrade
install asks for a qualifying product.

You must have a previous version, but it is *not* necessary that
that previous version be installed. It is sufficent to have an
installation CD for it and to insert that CD as proof of
ownership when prompted to do so.
