Reinstalling a NIC driver Q

I want to remove the driver for my NIC and reinstall it fresh to try and
clear up a hardware-type bug in my system.
Does doing this affect the Networking settings in XP Home? Or would I need
to run the setup wizard again?

Sorry if this is stupidly obvious. I like to know what to expect before I
make changes to my system. TIA

just remove it form the device manage and reboot the computer. The XP should detect the NIC and follow the instruction.
