My Network places unable to list NIC card

My home network with Windows XP Professional, and internet
access work correctly, however, My Network connection does
not list my NIC card. It does not show any connections,
and "connect", "Status" and "repair" are grayed out. Only
new connection and Network Statup Wizard are active.

I've removed the NIC card from Device Drivers and let
Windows re-install the card, everything worked, but it
would not list the connections in Network Connections.

How do I get Network Connections to recognize my NIC card?

Thanks for any ideas
