reinstall xp

after installing a larger hard drive. i had to reinstall
windows xp, but when xp told me to register, i tried but
it came back as that my version was allready registered.
so if i let the xx days run out, will i still have my
windows or will i have to do something else?

Hi,

Are you referring to activation or registration. Both are different.

If you are reinstalling a retail copy of windows you will have to use
telephone support to call MS and tell them why you had to reinstall Windows
and they will assist you to activate it manually.

If you dont act before the XX days you will not be able to use Windows XP.

Hi Eric,

There is no need to reregister, only to reactivate if prompted (which you
should be). If you are told that the system is already activated, then use
the phone option to call in the new activation.
