Windows XP reinstall question

Unknown One

I installed a new legal version of Windows XP and registered it but because of space
constraints removed it.

If I but in a larger hard drive and want to reinstall XP can I re-register it and is there
a special proceedure to it?

TIA

Sure you can do that, the only reason for xp not registering would be if
you tried on a diffrent computer.

This should not be an issue, I moved to a larger drive recently and did a
fresh install.

No, there is never an issue with " xp not registering." There might be an
issue with being unable to *activate* Windows XP if you tried it on a
different computer, but *only* if it's an OEM version. Retail versions can
be moved from computer to computer without a problem. Doing so with an OEM
version is against the terms of the EULA.

To Unknown One: You can reinstall and reactivate (again, "activate," not
"register") Windows as often as you want to, whether or not you install a
new drive. No special procedure is required. Worst case, activation over the
internet might fail, and you would be prompted to make a quick easy call to
an 800 number.
