Reinstall type faces in XP

How do you reinstall type faces in XP.
When I go from the Program's CD it said I will replace an newer version with
an older version.

What is it that you want to do, Al? If you already have the fonts on
your system (the "newer" version), why do you think you need to
reinstall them?

Either they disappear or I deleted them ( I don't think I DID).
Some of the web pages I get only have boxes on them for their messages.

I'm assuming you mean fonts. I'm not sure what "Program's CD" you mean,

In addition to my previous post, check what Character Encoding you're
using and what Font Substitutions you've got set. This would be in your
browser.
