Reinstall problems

I probably got a virus which is causing my computer to
display badly. I did a Norton Doctor scan and got an
unrepairable problem "c:\program files\common
files\installshield\professional\runtime\0701\intel32
\dotnet installer cannot access a necessary
file 'mscoree.dll'.
I tried reinstalling(repair) XP but the computer will not
recognize my setup key even though I turned off Norton
Virus and the virus protect in my BIOS.

How can I get the computer to reinstall XP?

Viruses do not typically affect the image displayed on your computer. Post
back and describe the problem with your display in more detail than saying
your computer 'displays badly' and we will try to help you.

Your comment "I probably got a virus..." indicates that you do not have
antivirus software installed on your computer or, if in fact it is
installed, it is not correctly configured and/or using recent virus
definitions. To protect yourself - and others - you must install antivirus
software that starts with Windows and runs in the background at all times.
This antivirus software must be configured to provide maximum protection and
must have continuously updated virus definitions. There is no other way to
protect your computer from viruses.

For information on Symantec software, please use Symantec technical
support.:
"Error: "Missing file: 'C:\ . . . \DotNetInstaller.exe' cannot access a
necessary file . . ." after running WinDoctor"

The mscoree.dll can be ignored. It is a bug in Norton,Also if you install the
dotnet framework from windows update it will go away.
What is wrong with your display?
