Registry Key Error - Permission to view

When I attempt to install Adobe Reader 7 or uninstall Adobe Reader 6.01, I
get a 1402 on the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat
Reader\6.0\AdobeViewer. I am using Windows XP Pro SP2.

I have used Regedit to try to view this key and I get the error message
"Cannot Open AdoberViewer: Error while opening Key". I am using my
administrator account. I have tried changing the permissions on this key but
I get a message that I "do not have permission to view current permission
settings for AdobeViewer, but you can change permissions". When I try to
change permissions to my administrator account I get a message "Unable to
save permission changes on AdobeViewer. Access is denied." I can't change
permisions, can't delete the key or change it. So how do I install Adober
Reader 7? Other keys in the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat
Reader\6.0\ I can see and change. Only this one. Help!
