Registry key deletion denied. But I am logged in as admin

I am trying to delete several keys in my registry in
Windows XP with SP1a installed. They are program entry's
under Hkey_Local_Machine\software key. The key's
are:K++, KaZuperNodes, KLExtensions. When I try to
delete these keys, I get, Can Not delete K++, Error while
deleting key. If I try to access the permisions for
these keys, I get security message that says "You do not
have permission to view the current permission settings
for K++, but you can make permission changes." I want to
delete these keys so that I can try to re-install the
program. Even the program installation tells me it can
not access these keys. I would like to know why I am
unable to modify and delete these keys when i am logged
in as the system administrator. I thought this account
should have priviledge to do anything to my system if I
am the administrator. This is my home computer that is
not on a network.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

John

Looks like those are KaZaa peer-to-peer related applications. The reason you may not be able to delete them is because the service(s) is running. See if you can get ride of them in SAFE mode

Thanks for the help, but I had no luck. Ever under safe
mode, it makes no differance. I am logged in as the
administrator on my computer. I still recieve the same
error messages trying to delete those keys. If you have
any other suggestions, I would love to here them.

Thanks,

John
