Problem removing registry keys?

I am trying to delete several keys in my registry in
Windows XP with SP1a installed. They are program entry's
under Hkey_Local_Machine\software key. The key's
are:K++, KaZuperNodes, KLExtensions. When I try to
delete these keys, I get, Can Not delete K++, Error while
deleting key. If I try to access the permisions for
these keys, I get security message that says "You do not
have permission to view the current permission settings
for K++, but you can make permission changes." I want to
delete these keys so that I can try to re-install the
program. Even the program installation tells me it can
not access these keys.

I have even tried under "SAFE" mode, still no luck!!

I would like to know why I am
unable to modify and delete these keys when i am logged
in as the system administrator. I thought this account
should have priviledge to do anything to my system if I
am the administrator. This is my home computer that is
not on a network.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

John

Greetings:

Check in the Group Editor if the Administrator account has Ownership
rights.. then try to take ownership of the registry keys.

Start\Run\Gpedit.msc\Machine Configuration\Security Configuration\Local
Directives\User Rights Assignment\directive; "Take ownership of files or
other objects"\Add user or Group\add Administrator if not allready included.

next; Security Options\"System objects: default owner for objects created by
members of the administrator group"\change between administrator or creator
depending on what account you used to install the program..

Hope this helps.
