Registry Key Access

My Grandson (14) has a relatively new Dell Inspiron laptop. He's running
Win XP, SP-2. He accesses the Internet with IE6.

He Emailed me with a problem downloading and running QuickTime and iTunes.
He's big on downloading the iTunes to his iPod. I know he's downloaded QT
and iTunes in the past, but when he went to update and install he got this
message:

"Could not open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CL
SID. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your
support personnel."

I've checked my Registry, but not his; and I don't find anything in that key
to indicate a verification process. Can anyone provide me with a clue on
what to tell him to do?

Thank you in advance,
Lanny

Quicktime would be in software after HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE + HKEY_LOCAL_USER
again,in software.98% of all pcs dont have it,you'd only get that after a
software
installation.Go to thier home page,reinstall.

Tell your grandson...
he has a problem with two Apple Products; he should, therefore, visit...
